
UTICA — The state Department of Transportation recently announced road work is scheduled to take place in the Mohawk Valley this week.
Work slated in the local area includes:
FULTON COUNTY
City of Johnstown: Route 30A between Briggs Street and Prindle Ave. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to sidewalk work, curb work and paving operations.
Town of Johnstown: Route 29 between Route 10A and the Johnstown City line. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to guiderail work.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY
City of Amsterdam: Route 30 over the Canal. Motorists will encounter the closure of the middle lane on the north bound side. There will be a south bound outside lane closure as well. Route 30 north bound ramp to Route 5 east bound remains closed. Route 5 east bound ramp to Route 30 south bound remains closed.
City of Amsterdam: Route 5 between County Route 157 and Route 30 south bound. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions due to the installation of project construction signs, and the installation of temporary signals at the proposed roundabout location where Route 5, Division Street and Market Street intersect. There will also be lane and shoulder closures for excavation work at the intersection of Route 5 and Liberty Street. National Grid will be on site to start the underground electrical work.
City of Amsterdam: Route 5 between John Street and Lark Street. Motorists will encounter a full east bound sidewalk closure with a pedestrian detour in place.
Village of Fort Johnson: Route 5 between Stoners Trail and Route 67. Motorists will encounter a Phase 2 traffic pattern due to bridge replacement. There will be a lane closure in each direction with the occasional flagger at the intersections. Route 5 east bound traffic is now shifted into one thru lane. The west bound traffic is now shifted into one lane.
Town of St Johnsville: Route 5 between Hillabrandt Road and Kennedy Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to the installation of traffic loop monitoring system.
Work scheduled in the rest of the Mohawk Valley includes:
HERKIMER COUNTY
City of Little Falls: Route 170 (East Monroe Street) between Salisbury Street and Jackson Street. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to milling and paving operations. The detour will utilize County Route 159 and Top Notch Road.
Village of Mohawk: Route 28 between Route 168 and Route 5S. Motorists will encounter lane closures or shifts in both directions with flaggers in place due to curb and sidewalk replacement, miscellaneous drainage structure repairs.
Village of Ilion: Route 51 between Gordon Place and East Clark Street. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to manhole rehab, milling and paving operations.
ONEIDA COUNTY
Town of New Hartford: Route 5 between Alexandria Road and Irving Road. Motorists will encounter an east bound right lane closure due to water main work.
Town of Lee Center: Route 26 between House Road and Tuffy Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to drainage structure and pipe replacement
City of Rome: Route 49 at South James Street. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to traffic signal work.
