PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Make sure to have the layers on as you head out for Monday morning’s commute. Colder and gusty conditions are in store through much of the workday.
Temperatures will run in the upper 20′s to mid-30′s for most throughout the morning commute. Any last bits of cloud coverage from Sunday’s passing system will quickly be driven out as strong winds build. We’ll see plenty of sunshine by the afternoon.
Gusts up to 35-40 miles per hour will be possible, making it feel much colder throughout the day. Daytime highs will reach the mid to lower 30′s, but the winds will make it feel like the teens through most of the day. As a result, make sure to keep the layers on, especially if you need to be outdoors for extended amounts of time.
Conditions will be active through the work week, with the chance for flurries and rain within the next couple of days.
