This Capgemini acquisition eyes more federal digital transformation work
Capgemini has entered into an agreement on an acquisition that intends to better position the IT services company’s federal subsidiary for opportunities in digital transformation.
The plan is for VariQ to be integrated into Capgemini Government Solutions, pending the anticipated closure of the deal by the end of this year and regulatory approvals. No terms were disclosed in the Tuesday announcement.
Rockville, Maryland-headquartered VariQ was founded in 2003 and touts its core offerings as being around software development, cybersecurity and cloud computing.
VariQ holds a position on the governmentwide Alliant 2 IT solutions and services contract vehicle, of which the company has received $26.1 million in task order spend since the original awards in 2017.
In addition, VariQ’s Rivet Logic subsidiary focuses on digital transformation for clients in certain commercial sectors that Capgemini also sees as an avenue for growth.
Given Capgemini is headquartered in Paris, the transaction is subject to reviews by both the Committee of Foreign Investment in the U.S. and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency. Capgemini Government Solutions’ headquarters are in McLean, Virginia.
