The Connecticut Department of Transportation moved its schedule up by two days and will now be milling and resurfacing 3.83 miles of Route 68 in Cheshire and Wallingford from now through Friday, July 10.
The milling segment of the project was anticipated to end Monday, June 15, and the resurfacing segment is expected to run from now through Friday, July 10.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2020 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
Residents can expect lane closures on Route 68 from Route 70 (South Meriden Road) to Begin Amtrak & US 5. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide traffic through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Sunday night through Friday morning)
Residents should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions and you are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
