WASHINGTON (Heart of Illinois ABC) -- Artists from across the area got a chance Saturday to display their work at Washington's annual Arts Festival.
The event took place at Washington Park and featured more than 55 creators all specializing in different types of art, such as sculpting, photography and metal work.
There were opportunities for kids to do some art of their own, plus live music and tasty locally-prepared food.
Washington Park District executive director Brian Tibbs said the event has gone on for more than a decade.
"It just makes for a well-rounded community when artists get to display," Tibbs said. "The last year has been tough on a lot of people, and just having those outlets and those ways to express themselves and be apart of the community in a different way, it's really exciting to be out here."
The festival capped off with a special "Movie in the Park" hosted by the Washington Chamber of Commerce.
For those who didn't make it today, the Arts Festival will continue Sunday.
