Reporter staff photographer Joel Rosenbaum recently was honored during the California Newspaper Publishers Association’s annual California Journalism Awards for his work last year.
His image of the Vanden High School graduate driving a riding lawnmower through the parking lot in her graduation gown to pick up her diploma was honored with a fifth-place award in the News Photo category in the daily newspapers with a circulation of 15,000 & under division.
Rosenbaum’s image of a small flock of Brewer’s blackbirds perched on headstones at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery won fifth place in the Artistic Photo category in the same division.
