Gaia Herbs, which is the leading herbal supplement brand in the U.S., recently added to its production output on its herbal supplements to fulfill the shortage of hand sanitizer that is needed for first responders and health care workers.
The brand has begun creating an herbal, CDC-approved hand sanitizer that will be donated to hospitals and those on the front lines during the first week of May. To clarify, the brand has never made hand sanitizer but recognized the serious need and knew they had a way to help, according to a press release.
Additionally, Gaia Herbs' chef will also be preparing 90 meals for those that are working days at Pardee Hospital.
In addition, the brand is providing monetary donations to various local food banks and is donating its best-seller – Quick Defense herbal capsules – to Bountiful City Project to support the immune systems of those in low-income neighborhoods who live in close proximity.
Then, to provide support for the local community and essential employees who are helping support these efforts, Gaia Herbs has doubled its vegetable production on the farm to provide nourishing on-site lunches for all employees, as well as donations of fresh, organic produce to local food banks, the release said.
