A Talladega County man who works for the county was convicted Wednesday in federal court of using his government-issued truck to deliver meth, prosecutors said Thursday.

Anthony Lamon Frazier, 38, faces up to life in prison after being convicted by a federal jury of intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, Birmingham U.S. Attorney Prim Escalona announced Thursday.

Evidence at Frazier’s trial showed he delivered nearly two pounds of meth using his Talladega County work truck to distribute the drugs. A narcotics dog sniffed the presence of drugs on the truck.

“Frazier’s conviction sends the message to those dealing drugs – you will get caught, and you will be held responsible for pushing this poison in our communities,” Escalona said in a statement. “I want to commend the Talladega County Drug Task Force and the prosecution team for their hard work on this case. I also want to thank the jurors for their time and service.”

The jury returned its verdict after two days of deliberations.
